What is the SAM.gov Lookup?

The SAM.gov Lookup Tool is an easy way for you to check the status of your SAM Registration. Follow the steps below to use the status check tool:

  • At the top of this page, select “Check SAM & UEI Status” in red
  • Input your company’s legal business name, CAGE, or UEI
  • Answer the bot security question and select “Check SAM Status NOW”
  • Allow the page to generate a brief summary of your SAM Registration that includes:
    • Expiration Date
    • NAICS, FSC, and PSC codes
    • POC’s
    • and more

How do I set up and use a SAM.gov system account?

To set up a SAM account, you must use an email and phone number related to your business. If the email is personal and you are listed as a POC, it may kick back your registration (and you CANNOT change your email in SAM). You will need to verify your identify and forms of communication and then you ready to use SAM.

Does every company have a DUNS number?

As of April of 2022, the DUNS number identification system was phased out and replaced by SAM’s own UEI (Unique Entity Identifier). If you did not received a notifcation for SAM or of unsure if/what your UEI is, follow the steps below:

    • At the top of this page, select “Check UEI and Expiration Status”
    • Input your company’s FULL legal business name or CAGE Code (if known)
    • Solve the security question and select “Check SAM Status NOW”
    • Allow the page to generate a brief summary of your SAM Registration that includes:
      • UEI (and CAGE Code)
      • Expiration Date
      • Primary NAICS Codes
      • PSC and FSC Codes
      • Primary POC’s
      • and more

Are there any new compliance requirements I need to be aware of for renewal?

Compliance Requirements for SAM Renewal

SAM has continuous changes to its interface and the procedures almost annually. Within the last two years, the DUNS numbers were replaced by UEI (Unique Entity Identifier) as well as needed an administrator assigned to your entity.
