SAM.gov is used as the money portal for the federal government, tracking where money is going for who and for what. The DSBS (Dynamic Small Business Search) is the SBA’s portal for federal contractors to find and to identify small businesses registered in  SAM. A requirement to having a DSBS profile is having a active and compliant SAM registration.

What are the qualifications for 8a?

In order to qualify to the 8(a) program you or your small business must be at a social and economic disadvantage. You must be a newly registered entity with no prior history of applying for 8(a). Your business must make less than $6.5 million a year. A requirement for any set-aside certification would be to have an active and compliant SAM Registration.

It is a high standard, for profit program businesses can use if they are at least 50% with a minority group.
