How Long is a SAM.gov Registration Good For?

From the date that you submit the SAM Registration for processing, it will remain active for 365 days. This means that you will have to renew at least annually, but will also need to update your registration immediately upon any company details changing (such as your address).

What is the meaning of SAM ID?

The “SAM” (System for Award Management) ID is more generally known as a UEI (Unique Entity Identifier). A UEI is assigned to all entities registered in SAM and expires every year and must be renewed annually. If you are registered in SAM and need to know your UEI, check your registration status by following the steps below:

  • Navigate to  the top of the page and select the red button that says “Check SAM Expiration Now
  • Input your company name or CAGE code.
  • After you select “Check SAM Status NOW”, allow the page to load your current SAM Registration which will provide information such as UEI, CAGE code, NAICS codes, and POC’s.
