    • Navigate to the top of the page and select “Check SAM Expiration Now” in red

When should I renew my SAM Number?

The standard recommendation to renew your SAM Number (Registration/UEI) is at least 60 DAYS PRIOR TO ITS SET EXPIRATION. The renewal process is taking longer with all the recent changes with SAM and CAGE/DLA. How do I renew my SAM Number?

Your SAM number (UEI) is not something that needs to be renewed, your SAM Registration is what needs to be renewed. In order to do this you must do the registration on SAM.gov and go through IRS and DLA/CAGE validation. Over the last few years, SAM and DLA/CAGE have implemented new policies that are slowing down the renewal process. USBRI recommends business’s begin the renewal process AT LEAST 60 DAYS BEFORE EXPIRATION. Starting early reduces the chance of any and all federal payments to be placed on hold. How do I know what my NAICS codes are?

To know what your NAICS Codes are for your business, follow the steps below:

  1. At the top this page, select the red button that says “Check SAM Status & Details”
  2. Input your company’s legal business name, CAGE code, or UEI
  3. Hit the “Check SAM Status NOW” button and wait for the page to load a summary of your registration.
  4. There, you will find necessary information including the NAICS codes that are on  your SAM Registration.

What is the 12 digit UEI number?

The 12 digit UEI number is a string of alphanumeric characters that SAM.gov assigns to business’s registered in their database. To know if you have a UEI, you can use the SAM Status Lookup Tool by following the steps below:

    1. At the top of this page, select the red button that says “Check SAM Status & Details”
    2. Input your company’s legal business name or CAGE code and complete the question.
    3. Hit the blue button that says “Check SAM Status NOW”.
    4. After the page reloads, you will see a summary of your SAM Registration that will include:
      • POC’s
