Do federal contracts expire when my SAM is inactive?

Although you will have to check with who you are contracting through, your inactive SAM Registration does NOT mean your contracts are expired. If you have an inactive or expired SAM Registration, any payments involved with federal contracts or grants will CEASE until it becomes active again. If you are unsure of the status of your SAM Registration, follow the steps below:

    • At the top of this page, select “Check SAM Status & Details” in red
    • Input your company’s name, UEI, or CAGE Code
    • After solving the short math equation, a brief summary of your SAM Registration will generate including
      • Expiration Date
      • CAGE Code
      • UEI
      • POC’s

What is a WOSB company?

A WOSB “company” is also known as a Woman-Owned Small Business and is often associated with the set-aside certification awarded by the SBA (Small Business Administration). You may self-identify as a WOSB. but contractors will not look at that until you have the certification itself.

How do I get the WOSB Certification?

To get the WOSB Certification, you want to make sure your business is eligible. Some of the requirements consist of:

    • Business must be 51% of greater owned by a woman
    • Daily operations management must be a woman
    • Highest officer position must be held by a woman
    • The woman must manage the business full-time and devote full-time hours
    • The woman must have full supervisory control
    • Primary NAICS Codes selection must fall within 1 of the 217 WOSB set-aside NAICs

What is a WBE Certification?

The WBE (Woman Business Enterprise) is a certification awarded by the WBENC program. WBENC is different from a WOSB Certification since the WBE is a state certification and the WOSB is federal through SBA. The benefits of having a WOSB Certification heavily outweigh the WBE Certification

How long does entity validation take?

Entity validation can take anywhere rom 4-6 weeks with the help of a Certified Registration Specialists. On your own, can take anywhere from 2-3 months with new validation processes implemented by SAM and CAGE. If you are unsure of what your UEI number is, follow the steps below:

The SAM.gov unique entity ID (UEI) is a 12-character alphanumerical string of letters and numbers tied to entity’s registered in SAM. If you are unsure of what your UEI number is, follow the steps below:
