How do I register my UEI number in SAM?

How do I get a unique entity identifier?

The Unique Entity ID is generated in SAM.gov. If you are registered in SAM.gov (active or not), you already have a Unique Entity ID. It is viewable at SAM.gov. If you are new to SAM.gov and will be registering for the first time, you will get your Unique Entity ID (SAM) during registration.

Is it hard to get a Sam number?

The SAM registration process is by no means an easy process; in fact, it can take up to 20 hours to complete the process. We receive calls all of the time from people who started the registration process, but quickly became frustrated with the process. It’s complicated and full of government-speak.
