How much money is set aside for small businesses?

According to GSA (General Services Administration), the federal government purchase between $10,000 to $250,000 for small businesses. What’s the difference between Grants and Loans?

When applying for a SAM its important to know the difference between receiving a gran and a loan. Loans are a set amount of money agreed to be paid back in a certain amount of time to the loaner. Loans can come from a bank, the federal government, or other financial institutions. Grants, however, do NOT need to be paid back as they are awarded to a specific individual or business that meets the requirements.

Do subcontractors need a UEI?

As of April 4, 2022, all subcontractors hired to do work (via a prime contractor working with the government) are REQUIRED to have a UEI assigned to their entity. If not, this could cause problems when receiving funds and or subcontracting opportunities.

What does it mean to be a contractor?

To be a federal contractor means to be hired by the federal government to take on work or a task.
