How Do I Sign Up for SAM?

Signing up for, the System for Award Management, is a critical step for businesses, non-profits, and other entities looking to do business with the federal government, either through contracts or receiving grants. It can be a daunting task as there are many steps and requirements involved in order to ensure compliance with current standards. Here is a basic overview of what you will need to do to activate a SAM Registration:

  • Gather Required Documentation
  • Create a SAM Account
  • Enter your Entity’s Information
  • Complete the Registration
  • Pass the Validation Steps (may take 3-4 weeks)
  • Acquire UEI and CAGE Code
