DSBS – Dynamic Small Business Search

To better make your business, products(s) and/or service(s) available to Government Procurement Officers, you MUST be registered in the DSBS (Dynamic Small Business Search). The DSBS is a database of companies with whom the government can contract with and includes information about any Set-Aside Contracts for which the company is eligible for (I.E. HUBZone, 8(a), WOSB, EDWOSB, VOSB, SDVOSB, etc.). Companies in the DSBS are more visible to Government Procurement Officers searching for Certified Small Businesses to meet specific Federal Set-Aside Contracting quotas and to locate companies for awarding “No-Bid Contracts” under $25,000.

Think of your company’s DSBS as a marketing tool. Your DSBS profile:

  • Confirms your eligibility for Small Businesses Set-Asides (Federally Certified Small Business)
  • Makes clear which Socio-Economic Set-Aside Certifications your organization has
  • Offers detailed information about your company to Prime Vendors looking for subcontractors

Agents and officers looking for specific types of Certified companies use the DSBS to identify and locate profiles in the following socioeconomic categories:

  • HUBZone Certification
  • 8(a) Program
  • Woman Owned Small Business Certification
  • Economically Disadvantaged Woman Owned Small Business Certification
  • Veteran Owned Small Business Certification
  • Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Certification

Your DSBS profile (which is searchable by keywords, among other search options) includes information about NAICS Codes, FSC Codes, PSC Codes, brief description of your company, product(s) and/or service(s) that are being offered.  This is also an area where companies would list information regarding any past performance (contracts) that a company has completed or participated in whether it was as a Prime, Sub or other form of participation.

Bottom line is the DSBS is the yellow pages for Government Procurement Officers and you want your business listed and listed properly by an experienced Registration Specialist so that it stands out among the other half million vendors.  If your company holds any type of Socio-Economic Set-Aside Certification, then it is imperative that it is listed in your DSBS Profile as this is where Contracting Officers go to verify such Certifications as well as search for Vendors with specific Set-Aside Certifications to full-fill “No-Bid Contracts” (contracts below $25K) and help the Contracting Officer meet their Federally Mandated quotas.  The importance of having a proper DSBS Profile in place cannot be stressed enough.
